Shrinking Our Environmental Footprint Around the World
Delphi’s manufacturing facilities are located in 26 countries. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint in each one.
Delphi teams are using technologies such as Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing, Shainin and Delphi Problem Solving to find innovative ways to minimize waste, reduce energy and water use and reduce emissions, even as we continue to improve quality and safety at every stage.
Each plant has established site-specific objectives. Many employees are contributing to our evolving Environmental Management System – a set of processes and best practices – which has led to improved sustainability performance.
One example of best practices came from our Delphi facilities in Europe, Middle East, and Africa where they designed a “Climate Change Toolbox,” an electronic inventory and guide designed to help employees reduce CO2 emissions both on the job and at home. The program reduced CO2 emissions by more than 12,000 metric tons. The initiative is now an integral part of Delphi's global business activities in more than 40 Delphi manufacturing plants in Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Delphi continues to grow. As we do, employees around the world embrace the challenge to create ever more environmentally sound operations that produce ever more sustainable products.
We see the challenge as an opportunity.
