Delphi Announces Grand Prize Winners of Annual 2009 "Destination: Victory Lane" Promotion

Three lucky technicians received trips to legendary motorsports events and the opportunity to meet racing greats--Dale Earnhardt Jr., Dan Wheldon and John Force

Release Date: November 03, 2009

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Today Delphi announced the three grand prize winners in its "Destination: Victory Lane" sweepstakes, a national promotion for automotive aftermarket technicians.

"Destination: Victory Lane has been a very successful promotional platform for Delphi this year," said Carrie Wright, global director of brand & communications, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. "It has allowed us to establish relationships with over 4000 technicians by giving them an online destination to learn more about Delphi technology and services, special access to their favorite NASCAR drivers and crew chiefs, and a chance to win daily and weekly prizes, as well as the three big prizes we are announcing today."

Mr. Steve Johnston of All About Automotive in Gresham, Ore., won a trip for four to the 2010 Indy 500. "I've always wanted to go to the Indianapolis 500. This is amazing!" he said when he learned he'd won the trip, which includes meeting Indy500 winner Dan Wheldon.

Mr. Bruce Mason of Mason's Automotive Inc. in Port Orange, Fla., won a four-person trip for him and his family to the 2009 Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., where he will have the opportunity to meet racing great John Force.

Mr. Bob Brasher of Scotty's Automotive in Orangeville, Calif., won a trip for four to the 2010 Daytona 500, where he will meet Dale Earnhardt Jr. "I'm a huge Dale Jr. fan. I can't believe Delphi is sending me to Daytona in February to meet him," he said after being informed of his prize. Scotty's Automotive is a member of TECH-NET Professional Auto Service.

Delphi launched the Destination: Victory Lane sweepstakes in February 2009. In addition to the three top prizes, technicians had the chance to win 35 weekly prizes and more than a 1,000 instant prizes, just for logging in to the promotion's Web site (www.delphi.com/victorylane).

In October, Delphi is celebrating the end of the season with the Victory Lap Instant Win Game. Every day until February 1, 2010, Delphi will give away a new prize that technicians can win instantly, simply by logging on to the Web site.

The Destination: Victory Lane Web site also features Delphi product information, repair tips and behind-the-scenes motorsports extras. Official sweepstakes rules and entry forms are available at the Destination: Victory Lane Web site.
