Emissions Standards for 2008

Delphi's 2008 Worldwide Emissions Standards reference booklets help people in the industry stay abreast of current emissions legislation around the world.

As emissions standards and testing procedures continue to become more numerous and complex, vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers refer to the Delphi Worldwide Emissions Standards booklets because they provide easy-to-read compilations of emissions legislation from around the world. There are two separate volumes—one for passenger cars and light duty trucks, and one for heavy duty and off-road vehicles. Electronic versions of both brochures are available on Delphi's website and hard copies can be requested as well. For more details on how to obtain copies, see the related information box on the right.

"The volume and complexity of country specific requirements can be challenging for our customers' design engineers and marketing teams," said Dr. Andrew Brown Jr., Delphi executive director and chief technologist. Delphi's one source guides summarize all of these requirements so the reader can easily access and compare relevant information."

The guides contain summaries of exhaust emissions standards and additional emission related requirements as well as additional information regarding on-board diagnostics (OBD) and evaporative emissions standards.

Newly Expanded Content

"This year, Delphi is offering increased information in one key area—CO2 emissions, said Dominique Mormont, European Union affairs coordinator for Delphi. "Since CO2 emissions standards and fuel economy policies are becoming tougher, additional related content was added."

Delphi has also expanded information in the motorcycle area due to the importance of such vehicles in emerging countries. Information on motorcycles can be found in the Passenger Cars & Light Duty Trucks brochure.

For many people, Delphi's Worldwide Emissions Standards pamphlets are must-have reference guides. The handy reference brochures were first published in 1992 and over the years Delphi's summaries have helped industry professionals keep up with the latest information about vehicle emissions.

Note: The content of Worldwide Emissions Standards represents the status of information at the time of printing and is subject to change without notice. It does not replace the need to always consult the complete official regulations.
