Delphi Micro Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHX)
Delphi's high-volume brazed aluminum residential air conditioning Micro Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHX) is a highly efficient heat exchanger suitable for outdoor residential units. Delphi has also produced heat exchangers for use in chiller, truck transport, and bottle cooling applications.
Operating Principle
The Delphi Micro Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHX) uses a brazed design, which enables greater efficiency than traditional mechanical tube and fin heat exchanger designs. Three key components—the flat micro-channel tube, the fins, and two refrigerant manifolds—are joined together in a single coil. The coil is divided into two passes: the first to de-superheat and condense discharge gas and the second to finish condensing and provide liquid subcooling.
Features and Benefits
- High efficiency
- Helps original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) meet higher SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) requirements
- 30 percent smaller than competitive product
- Compact and reduced coil size meets the market's need for less storage space, easier installation and greater aesthetics
- Easier to recycle because of all-aluminum construction
- Substantial refrigerant charge reduction
