Delphi Enclosure Blower

The Delphi enclosure blower is designed to help lower temperatures in cabinets housing servers and other electronic devices by up to 15°F while using only 2 RMU (rackmount units) of mounting space. By helping lower cabinet temperatures, the Delphi enclosure blower helps prevent overheating of critical microprocessors and other electronic components that are consuming more electricity as they grow more powerful. Designed for quiet, long-life operation, the Delphi enclosure blower generates significantly greater discharge pressures than conventional fans, substantially increasing the cooling benefit.

When installed in a raised floor environment, the Delphi enclosure blower provides optimum cooling by delivering the coldest under-floor air directly to the server fronts where cooling air-intakes are located. This helps provide best possible server cooling, and helps lower potential downtime and increase server life. In a solid floor environment, the Delphi enclosure blower helps cool equipment by routing the cooler air from the floor up to the equipment air intakes. In both cases, hot air is exhausted out the back of the server case.

For higher power cooling, the Delphi enclosure blower can be used in conjunction with perforated front and rear doors and filler panels to close all gaps between rack-mounted equipment. This helps secure a cold air path along the front of the equipment so the coldest air can be delivered where it is most needed.

The Delphi enclosure blower is constructed in a durable, lightweight polymer housing and is compatible with all 19" wide cabinets, 29" deep or deeper. It is intended for use with equipment that moves air from front-to-rear. The unit can be installed by just one person using a screwdriver, and with standard adjustable mounting brackets, there are multiple
mounting options.

These computational fluid dynamics models were prepared assuming a properly sized and performing data center cooling system, individual server airflow is not obstructed, and perforated front and rear cabinet doors. The models are intended to illustrate the performance difference with and without a Delphi enclosure blower under these assumed cabinet conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on individual cabinet and server conditions and Delphi cannot promise or guarantee specific thermal performance results.
