Delphi Compression Tolerant Louvered Heat Exchanger Fin
The Delphi Compression Tolerant Louvered Heat Exchanger Fin includes a heat exchanger core with tubes which are stiffer and more resistant to core assembly compression at the elongated tube edges. Corrugated cooling fins stacked between the tubes have fin walls that cross the stiffer tube edges and a series of vane like louvers that are regularly spaced along the fin walls. The outboard louvers on both sides of each fin wall are strategically shortened, as compared to the longer inboard louvers so that the fin walls will be stiffened less, and less subject to buckling when the core is stacked during assembly.

Delphi Heat Exchangers and Components
Delphi Heat Exchangers and Components include an improved two-piece manifold assembly for a heat exchanger with a circular internal cross section in which simple circular separators are installed in any orientation and location without piercing or affecting the seal of either the header or tank. The semi-cylindrical tank and header mate along their longitudinal edges. The mating inner surfaces of the header and tank pair have a mating surface with matching grooves. The matching pair of grooves allows a separator, in the shape of a circular disk, to be installed between the tank and header before the two are joined and brazed together. The uniform separators can be installed in any location or orientation and do not jeopardize the seal of either the header or tank. This technology provides a manifold assembly with high pressure resistance, ease of assembly, improved quality, and material savings.
