Delphi ChargeMat
A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) charging system allows consumers ease in "fueling" their vehicle by simply parking over the "Delphi ChargeMat" in their garage and walking away. The patented system makes vehicle connections, charges the vehicle if necessary and automatically disconnects when the charge is complete. The system is designed to be low-cost, unobtrusive in its use of garage space with high tolerance for misalignment. The system employs RF communications to instruct the HEV to lower charge contact pads that engage arbitrary contact cap relays in the mat, depending on the parking position.

Delphi Electrical Contacts Coating
Delphi Electrical Contacts Coating uses vapor deposition techniques to plate electrical contacts with titanium nitride or silver nickel. These coatings increase wear resistance, add lubriciousness and withstand high temperature, harsh environments.

Delphi Filter Elements Having Ferroelectric-Ferromagnetic Composite Materials
Delphi Filter Elements Having Ferroelectric-Ferromagnetic Composite Materials is a material innovation allowing for the design of compact and low cost electrical filters, in a variety of applications. This material possesses both capacitive and inductive properties for suppressing electromagnetic interference. Through a patented formulation and process, the composite material retains the distinct electrical properties of the individual constituent materials. As such, the material proves to be a highly effective filter against signal interferences in electronic applications, and suppression of electromagnetic/radio frequency interference.

Delphi Heat Exchangers and Devices and Systems (Thermal Management)
Delphi Heat Exchangers and Devices and Systems (Thermal Management) includes an evaporator with improved cooling performance. This technology is an efficient and cost-effective method to achieve improved cooling performance. Another Delphi thermal management technology includes a heat exchanger with a two-piece manifold assembly. This technology provides a manifold assembly with a high pressure resistance, ease of assembly, improved quality, and material savings. In addition, Delphi offers an improved dehumidification system in its thermal management technology offerings. This technology improves thermal and air flow efficiency.

Delphi High Strength Alloys and Materials Processes
Meeting the demanding service environment of high speed reciprocating pumps has resulted in development of Delphi High Strength Alloys and Materials Processes with superior wear resistance and related process improvements. Two such aluminum alloys, one with copper and the other with tin, both having a high level of bismuth, are wear resistant, self lubricating and suitable for use in severe service components, even when poorly lubricated. The relatively high bismuth level in the alloy and the other elemental additions provide a low friction bearing surface. The aluminum alloy is suited for use in a socket plate of a ball socket joint, such as a compressor unit of an automobile air conditioning system.

Delphi Intumescent Material
Delphi Intumescent Material is a fire shield material made of a thermoplastic elastomer and can be formed using conventional plastic extrusion or molding techniques. It comprises a base resin made of a blend of high-density polyethylene and chlorinated polyethylene, with added fire retardants, thermal and oxidative stabilizers, foaming agents, char formers, and inorganic fillers. When exposed to fire, it intumesces and forms an effective shield against fire propagation and heat flow, with no melting, dripping, or burn-through.

Delphi K-Alloy and K-Alloy SP
Delphi K-Alloy and Delphi K-Alloy SP are aluminum casting alloys with designed-in corrosion resistance. The Delphi K-Alloy SP is designed for sand casting and permanent mold applications, enabling free-flowing ease of casting. The original Delphi K-Alloy, originally introduced in 2003, meets die casting requirements.

Delphi Linear Piezoelectric Technology
Delphi Linear Piezoelectric Technology is a low-cost, high-temperature, piezoelectric (pz) material that relates linearly with motion (pz materials can convert motion/pressure/tension to electricity and visa-versa). It is a type of PZT material, which is the most popular pz material used. Other PZT types, however, relate non-linearly and degrade over time.

Delphi Powder Metals
Delphi Powder Metals involve the formation of complex, uniform, cost effective metal parts by compacting and sintering metal powder. Techniques have primarily been used to create permanent magnet structures. Major advancements include the encapsulation of metal particles in thermoplastics to assist in the formation process, which allows for fewer steps in the process.

Delphi Reduced Noise Automotive Ventilation System
Delphi Reduced Noise Automotive Ventilation System uses two blowers, a front mounted blower that pulls outside air in, and a rear mounted fan that exhausts interior air from the cabin space. By pulling and pushing in series, the speed of each blower is reduced.
