Delphi Heat Exchanger Devices and Systems

Delphi Heat Exchanger Devices and Systems includes an evaporator with improved cooling performance. This technology is an efficient and cost-effective method to achieve improved cooling performance. Another Delphi thermal management technology includes a heat exchanger with a two-piece manifold assembly. This technology provides a manifold assembly with a high pressure resistance, ease of assembly, improved quality, and material savings. In addition, Delphi offers an improved dehumidification system in its thermal management technology offerings. This technology improves thermal and air flow efficiency.

These heat exchangers and systems were developed to meet the demand for improved passenger comfort in a motor vehicle, and they offer benefits to other applications.

Specific Technologies

  • Evaporator with improved cooling performance — produces uniform temperature distribution in a vehicle. This technology is an efficient and cost-effective method to achieve improved cooling performance.
  • Heat exchanger with a two-piece manifold assembly — with a semi-cylindrical tank and interfitting tube header. The uniform separators can be installed in any location or orientation and do not jeopardize the seal of either the header or tank. This technology provides a manifold assembly with high-pressure resistance, ease of assembly, improved quality, and material savings.
  • Improved dehumidification system — based on a novel and energy-efficient rotating wheel heat exchanger. The wheel is comprised of axially open, desiccant-coated cells that absorb water on one side and are recharged on the other. The radial cross-cooling flow does not affect the desiccant recharging process. Maximum utilization of space within the wheel and a unique system of ducts and seals confine the radial cross-cooling flow to the most beneficial area of the wheel, improving thermal and air flow efficiency.
