The Delphi Protective Circuit has narrow and accurate thermal shutdown temperature limits. It is designed for reduced cost by allowing less expensive packaging or smaller integrated power devices. Trimming is not required and the circuit can be built on standard bipolar and biCMOS processors. It is also has the capability of protecting an entire circuit or a specific power device in the integrated circuit from entering into a destructive mode or failure.
