Delphi BA7 Actuators

Delphi BA7 Actuators are electromechanical devices that actuate engine features such as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), break flap and turbo (vane, nozzle, waste gate and by-pass) for medium duty and light duty engine applications. They also supply precise rotary position feedback to the engine control unit.

Benefits

  • Brush motor meets medium duty and light duty durability and performance requirements
  • Compact unit design with a single connection enables mounting and packaging flexibility
  • Non-contacting absolute positioning sensing provides accurate feedback and high durability
  • Aluminum body, plastic cover and gears provide high durability, low cost and low mass
  • 12 V compatibility

Typical Applications

Delphi BA7 Actuators are typically used for EGR and turbo (vane, nozzle, waste gate and by-pass) applications on medium duty and light duty diesel or gasoline engines to help provide optimum performance and enable compliance with current and future exhaust emissions standards.

  • For EGR control: The BA7 drives a linked EGR valve into the position that is required by the engine control unit to provide the optimum EGR rate.
  • For Turbo control: The BA7 drives linked engaged features in the turbo charger to optimize engine performance.
  • For Exhaust Flap control: The BA7 drives a linked exhaust valve to the position required by the engine control unit for optimum exhaust pressure and engine braking.

Their durability, flexible mounting options, adaptability and low cost make Delphi's Brush Actuators ideal for actuation on light duty to medium duty applications.

Performance Advantages

The high precision of the integrated electronics in Delphi's Brush Actuators enable significant flow control improvement in EGR systems. They provide accurate feedback, speed and precision for turbo systems, versus pneumatic and hydraulic actuators.

Delphi's Brush Actuators use integrated technology for accurate position feedback, mid-range actuation torques and flexible mounting options. They are also easily adaptable to a variety of other requirements for rotary input. Their single-point electrical connection to the engine management system enables greater mounting and packaging flexibility and interface simplicity.
