Delphi's Bluetooth^® Gateway Fob brings consumers unique and powerful value, enhancing security and convenience. The long-range fob with an integrated Bluetooth gateway enables two-way communication between a user and a vehicle through a portable device such as a Bluetooth cellular phone or a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). It allows users to check the status of a vehicle, control certain vehicle functions and receive confirmation of operations. For example, a user can check temperatures, fuel level, etc., change the temperature, open a window slightly, send a destination to the navigation system, or even start some favorite music, all on a cell phone or a PDA while inside a building. When the user is ready to go, he or she can enter a vehicle without taking out a fob or a cell phone with available passive mode operation.

The Delphi Bluetooth Gateway Fob is also an extremely cost effective two-way communication device because it only requires long-range RF and a Bluetooth gateway be added to a key fob. The patent-pending technology is an innovative solution that leverages an external portable device to enhance user HMI (human machine interface) experience with the custom software developed based on Delphi's many years of HMI research.
