Earth Day 2007
The notion of "going green" in business is no longer just a trendy marketing theme, as companies across the planet work to reduce their impact on the environment.
"Our company's commitment to continuous improvement extends to the environment in which we operate," says John Jaffurs, executive director, Operations Support Group. "As a corporation, we continue to take the actions necessary to restore and preserve the health of the communities in which we do business."
In its role as a responsible corporate citizen, Delphi has been active in seeking ways to lower its consumption of energy and natural resources and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide. It's also promoting reuse and recycling within its facilities as a way of using fewer resources.
In addition, Delphi is also at the forefront of providing its customers with energy-efficient products that help reduce emissions in vehicles.
"While Earth Day is an opportunity to recognize our achievements and may be a one-day event for many, we focus on this every day of the year," explained Howarth. "This not only provides a benefit to Delphi in terms of cost savings; it is also helping us reduce global warming and conserve the world's natural resources."
